Company Profile:

Emil and Ernie Baranko started moving dirt to subside their farming and ranching in 1967 doing primarily soil conservation work. They expanded into the oil field in the 1970s and were incorporated in 1979. In the 1970s Ernie took over the farm and continued ranching while Emil took over the construction portion. Emil expanded into county DOT work in the 1980s when the oil boom took a down turn. He also expanded into the coal and power plants in the 1990s. His sons, Gregg and Glenn, first got involved by working for the company in the summer and after school. Emil retired in 1999, leaving Gregg and Glenn to run the business. Glenn bought Gregg out in 2007. The company is based in Dickinson, North Dakota, with yard and shop facilities in Center and Fairfield, North Dakota. Glenn also owns a coal crushing facility in Center, North Dakota, providing stoker and lump coal to customers throughout North and South Dakota and into Canada.
